Legal or Not?
The wildlife sanctuary suggests never taking animals from the wild. In some cases it is illegal to take animals from the wild.
The following information was taken from the CT Department of Environmental Protection Wildlife Division.
It is illegal to possess:
- All felidae bobcats, lions
- All Canidae fox, wolf
- All Ursidae - bear
- All crocodilian species including caimans
- All endangered, threatened or species of special concern
- All venomous snakes
- All venomous arthropods such as tarantulas and scorpions
