Measure Up!

Grades 1 - 5
Investigate the human body to compare yourself to the world’s fastest, strongest, and most acrobatic animals. Manipulate your muscles, hear your heart beat, and stimulate your senses. How do you measure up?

Students complete various tasks at different stations and compare their measured success against the accomplishments of different animals. They get practice measuring and discover how accomplished some of nature’s animals really are.

SCIENTIFIC INQUIRY: Scientific inquiry is a thoughtful and coordinated attempt to search out, describe, explain and predict natural phenomena.

SCIENTIFIC NUMERACY: Mathematics provides useful tools for the description, analysis and presentation of scientific data and ideas.
