Walking With Dinosaurs: The Live Experience™ Free!
The Children’s Museum has partnered with Walking With Dinosaurs: The Live Experience™ to register families to win tickets to the area premiere. Each prize is a free family 4-pack to Walking With Dinosaurs: The Live Experience™ – for the 7:30 pm show on July 23. This is a world-acclaimed, live action, full-sized dinosaur show at Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. Click here or stop by the Museum to enter. Farmington Valley Butterfly Count July 26
The Nature Center will sponsor the fifteenth annual Farmington Valley Butterfly Count on Saturday, July 26. A 90 minute educational program on butterflies will be held from 1:30-3:00 pm. The cost for this program is $4.00 for members, $6.00 for nonmembers. Check the website for additional information.
Wednesday Evening Walk Series
Wednesday evening walks will be held each Wednesday evening, beginning July 16 and running through August 20 from 7:30 – 8:45 pm. Cost of each walk is $3.00 for members, $5.00 for nonmembers, (children $2 members, $3 nonmembers). Check the website for additional information.
Thursday Afternoon Animal Demonstrations
Thursday afternoon animal demonstrations have been scheduled on July 17 and 24, beginning at 2:00 pm and lasting 45 minutes. Program schedule: July 17 – Animal Babies; July 24 – Amphibians. Admission is $2.00 for members, $3.00 for nonmembers. Check the website for details.
Summer Birthday Party Opportunities
During July and August, the Nature Center will offer birthday parties on selected weekday afternoons from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Check the website for details.
Summer Discovery Program Information
As this newsletter went to press, spaces remained in several of the Nature Center’s “Summer Discovery” programs. Nature Center programs offer your child a unique blend of education and recreation that takes advantage of the curiosity and sense of wonder that all children feel towards the natural world.
