Over 250 guests had a world of fun at A Child’s World, The Children’s Museum’s 14th Annual Gala held on May 8th at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield. Over $230,000 was raised to support the extensive science and nature education initiatives offered by The Children’s Museum in West Hartford, Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton, and classrooms across the state.
A big THANK YOU to our presenting sponsor, Travelers and all of the other generous Sponsors who made the night a huge success. Also, grateful thanks so our Honorary Committee Chair, Alan Lazowski and all the other great community volunteers that helped the Museum make this evening a hit. Kara Sundlun and Dennis House of WFSB Channel 3 hosted with auctioneer Howard Koeppel to make a lively evening. Gala guests enjoyed fun science experiments, live animals, face painting, and the chance to choose a fine wine from our colorful wine wall drawing .
Tumble Brook provided the backdrop for this year’s theme of “inner-child”. Guests munched on lobster grilled cheese and peanut butter and jelly tartlets while sipping gummy worm apple and creamsicle martinis. Attendees also had the opportunity to bid on an extensive variety of auction items including a trip to Costa Rica, a South African Photo Safari and an FAA approved flight simulator.
Join the fun next year! Please save the date for our 15th Annual Gala scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 2011.
