Youth Group Programs

As the sun sets outside, the adventure is just beginning in The Children’s Museum. Since the 1990s, the Children’s Museum has provided evening and overnight opportunities for youth groups of all ages and sizes. Evening programs give youths an opportunity to see the museum after-hours, and overnight programs provide many with their first away-from-home camping experience. All events are focused around age-appropriate science and nature education, with an emphasis on fun! Join the thousands of people who have already experienced a night at The Children’s Museum.

Overnight Camp-Ins

Your Overnight Camp-In experience includes:

  • Science-based workshops and demonstrations
  • Exploration of our many exhibits
  • A world safari tour through our Wildlife Sanctuary
  • An award winning digital full-dome show and real-time space tour in the Travelers Science Dome at the Gengras Planetarium
  • Evening telescope viewing of the night sky (weather permitting)
  • Evening snack and light breakfast

Overnight Camp-Ins are offered to youth groups in grades 1 – 6 on selected Camp-In Dates Friday and Saturday nights from November – June. Our themes may fulfill scout badge requirements, but all are geared to generate the fun and excitement that can only be found at a Camp-In.

For pricing, go to the Camp-In Registration page. To make a reservation for a Camp-In, call the Registration Department at 860.231.2830 ext. 44. If you would like a copy of our brochure, please email events@thechildrensmuseumct.org and include your name and mailing address.

Evening Badge Workshops

Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts: be our special guests for an evening centered on fulfilling some of your badge requirements.

Get ready to join us for a fun-filled evening of engaging activities and Museum exploration focused on fulfilling specific badge requirements. Our skilled instructors follow BSA and GSUSA requirements for scouting levels in grades 1-6. Some of the requirements are completed during the evening. Packets are sent home with leaders to complete specific additional requirements. Fee includes supplies, instructors, and admission into the Museum for participants.

For pricing, go to the Workshop Registration page. To make a reservation for an Evening Badge Workshop, call the Registration Department at 860.231.2830 ext. 44. If you would like a copy of our brochure, please email events@thechildrensmuseumct.org and include your name and mailing address.
